Not easy, by a long shot, you need to spend the whole run in manual with cruise control off, but well worth the effort to master.Hi all! My name is Pavel Zagrebelny, and I’m the lead developer and vision holder on Spintires: Mudrunner, which puts the player in the driver seat and dares them to take charge of incredible all-terrain vehicles, venturing across extreme landscapes with only a map and compass as your guides! Best starting truck in the game if you can drive it. It isn't top-heavy, and works really well at either end of a convoy. Best overall truck in the game, if you are good at driving 2wd. 2wd so you get brilliant mileage, 330l fuel tank so you don't come up short, and it takes long logs as a bonus. It takes bloody forever (no matter which combo you get) to get everything to the garage and get the garage unlocked, but so long as you know the two safe routes on each end of the map you can make it. There's a (mostly) safe passage on the west side of the map if you have a bigger truck in the lead, so in the end all you need is the C-256 for the crane, and any two other trucks (one big) capable of hauling 8 log points in a convoy. If you get the D truck, you have just enough fuel to make it to the fuel station, then go get the trailers, then unlock the garage, then go back for the other trucks. If you get the B truck, use it to refuel the tractor and then use that to get the C-256 the rest of the way. It's a crapshoot once you get there - you either get a B truck and the K thing, or a D truck and the K thing. You can run it out of the garage to the left, and then make it across to the little island with two unlockable trucks if you pick the right route (The C-256 is okay crossing moving water by itself).

Plus it makes for a way prettier menu screen, lol -Ĭ-256. There is just something so much more gratifying about taking a B-120 or the C-256 and crossing the Deluge with it than you get from doing it in a big old tractor or an ex-missile truck in AWD. Funnily enough, tho, the longer you play the more you find yourself gravitating to the 'weaker' trucks, on hardcore rather than casual. Both of which are entirely subjective, based upon what your actual goals are on each run, and your strategy for achieving them. ALL of the maps have areas that are really difficult to navigate, just as all of the trucks have inherent upsides and downsides, and even the weakest trucks are as good as the strongest ones in the hands of a skilled and experienced driver. Personal note - I have found, after a lot of playtime, that the map stars and truck stars are kind of pointless once you have a fair amount of experience with the game. Map stars and truck stars are just an aid to help you find a balance that is fun for you. People with a lot of experience or who are looking for a serious challenge will usually grab the weakest trucks to have a go. Mid-range or casual or relaxed players will probably find more fun playing with their favorite trucks. Newer players will probably enjoy playing with the big, capable trucks over the difficulties. You are the one playing, so just go with whatever gives you the most fun experience. All you get for picking trucks with a lower "truck limit" is a bigger challenge. All you get for picking trucks that add up to more than the map's "upper limit" is not being able to get achievements. You can pick any truck(s) you like to start the game, it doesn't matter. The higher number of stars for a truck, the more able that truck is to help you beat the map. The higher number of stars for a map, the harder that map is. If your total truck balance is below that of the map, then you are regarded as having a more difficult time to achieve the goals, which is fair for getting achievements.

(Same logic behind disabling them if using mods, since many mod trucks have ridiculous stats). If your trucks have more stars than the map, you are regarded as making it too easy, so no achievements. That's what the game considers to be the point where the total number of your truck's stars and the map's difficulty are even. Consider them as a "difficulty" indicator for the map.
